Monastery of Transfiguration

AEV (-2,0,+2), f22, ISO100

A friend of mine once told me there is this Monastery in Bukidnon that is one of a kind, Pyramid-shaped "what a great Architecture". This Monastery is located in San Jose Malaybalay City. My friend invited me to visit the place and I was so enthusiastic about it because I believed its going to be a very nice subject for my Photography. When I visited the Monastery, I was wearing shorts and the regulation says, no shorts. To pass through the security, I need to wear "Saya" just like Missionaries do. It seems funny but I was really wearing it. lol. Besides, I was there to pray and take photos, so its alright.

I used Lightroom and Photomatix during post processing. I hope you like it. More photos are to be uploaded soon.

Reminder: Always wear Proper Attire when visiting the Monastery of Transfiguration.:-)

Maya

This bird (locally named Goryon or Maya) is widely spread in the Philippines and probably in all tropical countries. In fact I have seen one of these when I was in Guinea, West Africa.
I remember when I was a child, I used to hit this bird using Slingshot Channel ("Pitik or tirador"). I was so proud as a child and I believe most of you experienced it too.  Moreover our church has plenty (hundreds or thousands) of nests at the ceiling. So everytime we attend the Eucharistic celebration, we are so careful not to be hit by its feces.
Today, I enjoyed watching these little creatures. Nature keeps on amusing me. With my Canon Rebelt2i and 55-250mm IS lens, I took a shot  (f5.6, 1/250,ISO100) so wonderful for my eyes to see.  Then I made a minute processing in Lightroom . I hope you  like it.

Please take care of our Mother Nature.

Longboarding

I took a photo of my brother showing a new Xtreme Sport that falls in Skate boarding category. This sport is commonly named  "Longboarding"  and is applicable in downhills, where gravity force is the only means of acceleration. With proper gears and suits, one can attain 80mph speed. So one can imagine how extreme it is. Anyways, I took this photo using the AI Servo autofocus function of my Rebelt2i. With post processing using Lightroom, I finally came up with this result.
WARNING!!! Do not play without Safety Gears.

Red Lirio

This flower belongs to the Lilium family and is commonly named 'Lirio'. This flower exists in different colors like any flower do. I like seeing it, so I took a photo of it. I asked my mother to pick this flower so that I could take a shot. Then I remembered a movie with Eddie Garcia saying to his son "Paborito ko talaga ang Lirio. Alam mo anak, ang babae ay parang bulaklak-huwag mo itong pipitasin kung ito'y sisirain at itatapon lang din." I hope I quoted it right. So, how did I took this shot? I used my Canon Rebelt2i using 55-250mm lens, set it manually using f/5, 4sec, ISO100 and RAW. I put the flower inside the room where the only source of light is from the window. Then i took some post processing using Adobe Lightroom. Now, you can see it the way i want it.
                                                                           I hope you like it.

Weipa Fishing Classic

June 9,2012 I was in Weipa Australia. I'm so glad to be part of their annual celebration "Weipa Fishing Classic". It was indeed a great time.

As we were waiting for our taxi service, I enjoyed the sun going down. Few minutes after the sunset, i took a shot at this car "w/o the owners permission, lol.." and it gave me a great perspective. I showed it to the owner later on and he was so amazed. I can still remember what he told me then, "Just don't sell it mate.". It was really great. I told him that i would just put it in personal use, lol.

Using Photomatix, I created an HDR image out of the bracketed (AEV -2,0,+2) photos I took. Then as my eye sees it, I concluded my editing up to this point of view. I hope you'll love this photo.

Here are some photos i took during the celebration:

Where's Nemo?

fish where are you?

Here I got one.

Pelican

As we start sailing from Norfolk Virginia, hundreds to thousands of birds flying and diving by the stern side of our ship. The scene is so astonishing. I took my "Canon Rebel T2i" with its kit lens 55-250mm IS II and did plenty of shots. I found this one perfect. Immediately I uploaded it to "Facebook" to let my friends see the beauty of this bird. My friends were amazed and they liked it for real. My siblings "who also loves taking pictures", were greatly amazed and appreciated it much. I really thanked God for this wonderful creation He has. Now, I am becoming so tied up with this passion that I have.
Ever since I was a child, i greatly appreciate the wonders of nature. We lived in a rural area (Camp Phillips Bukidnon PH) and there are exotic animals (iguanas, geckos, monitor lizards, flying lizards, wild birds, etc) in there. ( Oh God I miss Home). I love watching Discovery Channel, National Geographic, and web photos of great photographers. I have now the luxury of buying high-end DSLR and I will show to you all the beauty of the World through my Photos.
